Biker Chic

Blouse: Zara, Shorts: J. Crew Factory, Sandals: T.J. Maxx, Belt: F21

We always rent beach cruisers when we come to Newport. It’s one of our favorite things to do. So, this morning we rode our bikes down to the ferry and across to Balboa Island to get cinnamon rolls. After a few minutes of gluttonous ecstasy enjoying our tasty treats, we headed back to the ferry. Happy and full, we soon realized we didn’t have enough money for all of us to get back on the boat—we had spent too much on the cinnamon rolls. You can see what our priorities are… So, my sister, my dad, and I had to ride our bikes up a giant hill and around Newport to make it back to the house. Needless to say, it kicked my butt. I guess I burned off that cinnamon roll, right?

Donuts and a Photo Bomber

Cardigan: J. Crew, Dress: Banana Republic, Shoes: DSW,
Jewelry: J. Crew, Nordstrom

Sister Macie loves to photo bomb. She takes after me, but I like to be a bit more subtle about it. My photo bombs usually only include my head– making a very, very lovely face.

We made it to the Beach. Hallelujah! I’ve already had my first box of donuts…in a swimsuit. It was FANTASTIC. Stay tuned for further donut updates.

Back in Business

Dress: Mango, Belt: Nordstrom, Shoes: Tommy Hilfiger via T.J. Maxx, Bracelet: J. Crew

Hey guys! Im baaaAAck! It felt good to shower, do my hair, and put on some fresh clothes after ten days of serious sweatiness. Not that I didn't shower, because I did. It's just that ten minutes later, it was no good. So, I resorted to a sticky state and a constant bun head. Fabulous, I know.
I'm headed to Newport Beach, California with my family for the next week. You can expect some beach pics along with donut pics, of course! Because for us, swimsuits and donuts go hand in hand.

My friends are cuter than yours

I have really cute friends. I'm convinced they're the cutest in the world. They have great style and they're pretty funny. Plus, they're about the nicest people in the world. I don't know, maybe I'm a little biased, but I think they're pretty great. I'd like to give a shout out to my wonderful Coug sisters, thanks for being so cute!

Europe

Aside from elephantiasis-like ankles from the flight, jet lag, and piles of dirty laundry, Europe was amazing. It was most definitely the trip of a lifetime. I got to spend ten days with my very best friends doing what I love most. I couldn't ask for more! We first spent 6 days in Prague, Czech Republic. We were there to compete in the New Prague Dance Festival where we competed five numbers and had the opportunity to take workshop classes. The days were long and grueling, not to mention extremely sweaty, but they were so fulfilling. We met people from Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, Italy, Israel, Lithuania, Panama, and other places all over the world. We shared our different dance styles, a bit about our cultural backgrounds, and friendships that will last forever. Our hopes of making new friendships were fulfilled as we were awarded the "most friendly" group, voted on by the other groups. The long hours of hard work paid off when we won the Grand Prix prize, which was the top overall award of the competition. I feel so humbled to be part of such an amazing experience. From there we headed to Vienna. On our way we stopped at Mauthausen concentration camp. It was truly an amazing, but sobering experience that I will never forget. I feel so blessed to live the way I do. My heart and mind are so impressed to never forget what happened there and to do my part to make sure that things like that don't happen again. Feeling humbled and blessed, we headed to Vienna. We ate weinerschnitzel, toured Schonnburn palace, hit up the museums, toured some catacombs, and saw a Mozart concert. Oh and we managed to fit some shopping in there somehow, of course.
This short paragraph above doesn't do justice to the amazing experiences, memories, and feelings included in this trip. Words can't describe the last week. I feel so lucky to have been a part. I love my cougs!

Europe Bound

I'm headed to Europe with the Cougarettes, my dance team, for the next ten days. We are competing at an international competition in Prague and then stopping in Vienna before we head home. These will be my last days as a Cougarette and I plan to make them ones I will remember! The blog will be a bit empty for the next few days, but I hope to come back with some amazing pictures and stories! Happy weekend everyone!
