Book Worm

Shirt: J. Crew Factory, Skirt: H&M, Necklace: Wild About Jewelry, Glasses: Lookmatic,
Shoes: Loehmans, Socks: Husband

Guys, I have another confession. I mean, this is Classy Confessions right? I'm a nerd at heart – and I mean a huge nerd. Not that you didn't already know that, you read this blog. I'm the dork kind of nerd, but also a book kind of nerd – not exactly the smart kind of nerd though. I'm the kind of nerd that reads one whole book, sometimes two in one day. I've read all of the Harry Potter books multiple times. Have I already mentioned that I was Hermione for Halloween in the third grade? And that I had a Harry Potter themed room and bedspread? From the time I could read, book series' have always been my thing. Little House on the Prairie? Check. Series of Unfortunate Events? Check. Hunger Games? Check. Matched? Check. The list goes on and on and on and on. I even had a book lamp as a young child. The point is, these glasses are the result of a life of book wormed nerdiness. Reading in the dark does not do good things my friends. Take a word of advice from a blind book nerd!

Bow Tie Chic

Hello Dahlings! So remember when I went to the Apricot Lane Blogger meet up? Well, the sweet ladies at Apricot Lane were so kind to include me in their fashion blogger collaboration! I had so much fun browsing around their store. They have some great pieces, so picking one favorite was tough! This blouse won the contest because it is so cute and so unique. I love the feminine take on the bow tie and the sleeve detailing is adorable. This blouse is sleek, chic, and paired with a pencil skirt, professional. It will definitely become a staple in my closet.
Luckily, Apricot Lane isn't too far from where I live. Fortunately for those of you who don't live close, Apricot Lane has just opened an online shop through Facebook! A lot of their merchandise, including this blouse, can be found in the online store. Apricot Lane is offering Classy Confessions readers 20% off their entire online purchase with code MEGAN20

One Year Older and Wiser Too

Hello everybody! It's Winston here – one year old Winston – that is! I had my first birthday last week. I  didn't really notice much of difference to be honest, except mom and dad made me wear this stupid paper cone thing on my head. I kept swatting it off, but they insisted that I keep it on. On the bright side, I did get this really yummy pink cookie looking thing. Mom picked it out of those dreamy looking treat bins they have at Petco. I've always dreamed of having one of those delicious morsels, but mom and dad are sticklers when it comes to doggy food. They have no idea that I sneak all sorts of tasty things off the floor. It's their fault for dropping it!
So apparently I'm older now? Whatever that means... I still feel young, free, and full of energy. I seriously just want to run figure eights around the couch all day long. I wish dad would take me to the Puppy Lounge. I love it there. Four hours of straight wrestling with friends? You'd love it too! Maybe dad will take me to the lounge for a late birthday present. Will you put in a good word for me?

The Wind in My Hair

Blouse: J. Crew, Jeans: h&m, Necklace: Topshop, Sandals: T.J. Maxx

This is how picture taking usually goes for me. I get a few normal looking pictures in-between a lot of awkward– face/my hair is all over the place – pictures. Windy photo shoots get even worse when you add lipstick to the picture. I may or may not have a had a purple streak in my hair in the tenth grade. *Clarification: It wasn't my hair, it was an extension. Cool then? Maybe. Cool now? Never. Unintentional pink streaks are scary folks, trust me.

Confession

Shirt: F21, Shorts: Topshop, Sunglasses: ChloĆ©,
Necklace: Borrowed from my Sister (Similar

Because of the title of this blog, I often get asked (mostly by my husband), "What's your confession?" So, here it is guys: I like to hide behind sunglasses and bright pink lipstick. I actually don't have makeup on – besides the lipstick, and my hair is wet. Sometimes I want to be cute, but I'm just not dedicated enough to put in the effort. So what do I do? Cheat it. Fluorescent lipstick and giant sunglasses never let me down.

If You're a Bird, I'm a Bird

So I went to Billie Jo, a place where you can customize swimsuits, and designed this little number. I was going for a retro, 40’s look, and I was pleased with the way it turned out. It made me feel like Rachel McAdams in The Notebook. I pranced around the beach, splashing water and loving my life. I swear I could even hear Andy shouting, “If you’re a bird, I’m a bird!” However, I soon discovered my Rachel McAdams-esque moves weren’t quite what I thought they were. Regardless of what it looked like, I sure felt as free as a bird. Behold, the reason every beach goer couldn’t stop staring.
