What's Wrong With This Picture?

Dress: Francesca's, Shirt: J. Crew Factory, Shoes: Steve Madden,
Purse: NYC Boutique, Necklace: J. Crew via ebay

You know when they play that reel in the movie theaters as you're sitting waiting for the movie to start where they show two different reels from the same scene as ask what's different in them? Well, I'm an acclaimed actress of those scenes...apparently. We went to the wedding of my beautiful old roommate so I got all dressed up. I must have been in a hurry or something...It wasn't until the night was over, I talked with a bunch of friends, we went to dinner, and we took these pictures, that I was undressing and realized that I'd been wearing two different earrings the whole night. Can you tell? Look at picture number four. At least they're both orange right? I'm making my way to the big screen folks...during the pre preview previews. I'm gonna be a star!

The darling Gentri Lee has been oh so kind to award me her highly acclaimed Blogger of the Week award! I am so honored! Make sure to check out the feature here!

Gryffindor, Slytherin, or Azkaban?

Dress: J. Crew Factory, Shirt: H&M, Shoes: Michael Kors,
Jewelry: F21, Michael Kors, J. Crew

I was a Harry Potter fanatic growing up. I don't just mean I liked the storyline... it was serious. I had read the first two books by the end of the second grade. I had a Harry Potter bedspread. I had framed posters, a calendar, and even a Harry Potter themed christmas tree.Yes, my room was magical. I was Hermione for halloween in the 3rd grade. I owned and mastered the Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit. I cried – no bawled when Dumbledore died. I was fully invested to say the least. I anxiously awaited my letter to Hogwarts on my 11th birthday. I certainly was sad when it didn't come, but there's still hope for my kids right? I mean look at Hermione.

I used to imagine the sorting hat on my head, hoping for Gryffindor, dreading Slytherin. Yet, last night in the depths of late night delirium, it seems I found my inner fantasy character. I am horrified (yet slightly impressed at the resemblance) to reveal myself as a dementor. Take a look folks.

Scary, I know. Let's hope my kids have better luck under the sorting hat. I'll take muggle over dementor any day. I know I may be demanding, but hopefully my smooches don't suck Andy's soul.

A Fabulous Floral Find

Top: H&M, Skirt: F21, Wedges: Target, Jewelry: J. Crew Factory, The Busy Biddy

It has been so warm around here lately. Yesterday even hit 85 degrees! When it gets that hot, cool, breezy skirts are the best thing. I'm loving all of the floral prints lately, so I thought this skirt was to die for when I saw it. Wanna know what's even better about it? As my brother in law would say, It was a steal of a deal! I'm tempted to wear it everyday this week. I think I just might.

Noteworthy News

Hello dahlings! It's Monday, and those aren't usually my favorite. However, I have exciting news to share with you. I'm co sponsoring a fashion event and blogger meet-up this thursday! I went to my first blogger meet up in March and it was oh-so fun! I met so many fabulous new friends. It's amazing how much blogging has introduced me to a whole new world, great people, and new besties.
My dearest friend Katie Beth of the kb files is teaming up with Apricot Lane, a darling boutique at the Shops at Riverwoods in Provo, to put together this fabulous event! They are offering 25% off storewide, serving refreshments (including deliciously adorable cupcakes from cupcake chic), and giving away prizes from sponsoring bloggers like me! It will be a great opportunity to mix and mingle with fellow bloggers, make new friends, snack on goodies, and of course, shop! So, if you're a blogger, just interested in fashion, or just love food and friends, come to the Spring Fashion Event and Blogger Meet-up at Apricot Lane Boutique this Thursday, April 26 from 6-9pm!

I'm Baaack!

Pink Blouse, Vest: Gap, Gingham  Blouse, Pants: J. Crew Factory, Blazer: F21 Shoes: Steve Madden,
Glasses: Lookmatic, Necklace: NYC Boutique

I'm Baaack! I've emerged from the deep dark, pajama wearing hole called finals week. And let me tell you, It feels gooood! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I have nothing to do...that is until spring semester starts, but we're not talking about that just yet. I went to the gym for the first time in a long time (that's gonna hurt in the morning), I made sugar cookie cheesecake bars, I cleaned the house, and I even made dinner! Look who's getting all domestic up in hurr!
Along with free time comes time to ponder (aka freak out about the future). I won't graduate until December, but for some reason paranoia pants over here can't stop worrying about the next step. I've got a lot of possibilities, a teacher being one of them. So naturally I imagine an outfit for each future career. This is what I would wear if I was a teacher. Cute argyle sweaters, glasses, and blazers? Check. Patience dealing with stinky, annoying, rude teenagers? Still working on that one.

National Champions

Hello Dahlings! It's been awhile. I've been busy with Nationals and then finals, but I'm free now! Wahoo! As I mentioned before, I traveled to Daytona Beach, Florida this past week withmy dance team, the BYU Cougarettes, to compete at college dance team nationals. It was so much fun. We had worked so hard and were looking forward to takinghome a national title.

We placed 2nd by one hundredth ofa point in team dance. We were sad, but we're happy for our friends from PennState who took 1st place for the first time! Here is our team dance performance for prelims.

We were sad to lose, but so fired up for hip hop. We won last year so we were coming back to defend our title. Everyone wanted to see what we had to bring and the pressure was on. We knew we had an awesome routine and we were ready to kill it. I'm not gonna lie, I was nervous.

They circle each team through a rotation in a practice room before competing. During our time in the practice room and backstage I worried that we weren't in our zone. I didn't feel the fire and intensity from everyone until we were walking on. But man, once we got out on the stage the energy was nuts. I could tangibly feel it from each of my teammates. We hit our very first trick and it just kept building from there. We reached the end and I knew we had nailed it. I just knew it was perfect. It felt so good. But it felt even better when we won with a score of 9.984. One judge even gave us perfect 10's across the board! My coach, in her 22 years of coaching, had never seen one! It was exhilarating, fulfilling, and oh so happy. I love all of my girls SO MUCH! And to work so hard and be successful together is honestly the best feeling. Check out our routine, I may be a little biased, but I think it's pretty awesome!

Andy, my parents, and my little sister Macie came to support me. It was so fun to have them their to cheer me on. I love them so much. And to my cougarette sisters, I love you forever and always!

Words from Winston

Hi guys, it's me, Winston! It's been a rough past week around here. My parents left me for five days! Sure, people came to let me out, change my food, and take me for walks, but for the most part I was locked up all day. ALL DAY I TELL YOU! A little fur ball of energy like me just can't handle that, so you know what I did? I chewed my way to sweet freedom! The netting on those gates are for infants not stallions like me! When ever will they learn? I roamed free for who knows how long! It really was a party. I ripped stuffing from every stuffed animal I could find. I chewed J. Crew sandals (who knows what those are? I guess something special because mom about lost it) to shreds, I even chewed a three inch hole in the carpet. Who knew I was capable of so much?
Mom and Dad finally came home sunday night. It has been so nice to run and play and lick their faces again! I even greeted them with the biggest and worst gas emissions I've ever had. And boy, they must have really thought it was a treat. They were hootin' and hollerin' and they even let me play outside for 30 minutes!
I'm just so glad to have them home. Mom has been home with me practically all day studying for some dreaded event she calls finals. It's great to have her home but she doesn't even pay any attention to me. I try to sit by her and do that studying stuff but it's just so boring. I hope mom gets back to normal soon. She stays in her pajamas all day staring at books and screens.
Dad, on the other hand, is so much fun! He takes me for runs around the block at midnight. Mom says it's just to tire me out so I'll go to sleep, but I know it's because dad wants alone time with me. We need our special guy time. We bark together, play fetch, wrestle, and take baths (usually separate, but if I'm sneaky enough I can jump in while he's looking the other way). I know mom loves me, but dad is just so much nicer. Wanna know a secret? Sometimes, when mom is out of town, Dad lets me sleep in the bed! I love that guy!

Striped

Dress: Just Taylor via Nordstrom Rack, Shoes: F21, Jewelry: My Moms

I have a slight obsession with stripes. I think I wear them at least 3 times a week. I don't know what it is. Maybe I have a strange unconscious desire to be a zebra. I always seem to have some strange animal connection to my outfits. I guess its a good way to channel my inner animal?

Happy Easter

Happy Easter my dear friends! I hope you enjoyed good weather, good food, family, and friends. We (Andy and I) spent time with both of our families eating way too much and just enjoying good company. Saturday night we watched this clip in preparation for Easter Sunday. It really put us in the right mindset, reminding us what Easter is really all about. So, I want to share it with you. I hope you enjoy!

To the Max

Seaside

Date Night

First Look: Dress: Marshalls (similar look here), Belt & Hat: F21, Shoes: Target
Sunglasses: ChloĆ© giveaway prize from here
Second Look: Dress: Marshalls, Shirt: J. Crew, Jewelry: J. Crew, Michael Kors, Nordstrom Rack
Wedges: Target

It took me while to get into the maxi dresses. I was always afraid of looking pregnant. It might have had something to do with the food baby that seems to grace me with its presence after every meal.  It comes  as a result of always stuffing myself to the rim... I have a really good relationship with food if you know what I mean. Whatever it was, I got over it and realized, "I have been missing out on this comfiness this whole time?!" So, my dear friends, don't be afraid of the maxi. Embrace it. I promise you'll be glad you did. You might even want to wear it two days in a row! You can mix it up and where it different ways. Pair it with a belt and floppy hat for a seaside look, or dress it up with a tie-blouse, wedges, some sparkly accessories, and of course, raspberry lips. I'm looking for more maxi dresses with sleeves. They seem to be hard to come by. So, please, if you have seen any around please let me know!
