The Day I Lost My Goldie Locks

Hey guys. Yes, it's me, Winston. I know, I'm unrecognizable. It's embarrassing. Do you see that pile of beautiful, golden locks there? That's me! And they shipped it off to make a persian rug! Can you believe it? Just kidding, I think it ended up in the garbage can. It would have been better off becoming a persian rug, then at least someone could have enjoyed it. Now I'm left to rediscover my identity and try to make a name for myself.
I shivered my way through the first snow storm. It was awful. The only plus was that Mom felt so bad she actually let me sleep at the foot of the bed. It was amazing! They tried to make up for my lack of warmth by buying me a cable knit sweater. Dad even impressed my Mom and got some brand called Pup Crew. I don't really know the significance of that, but Mom giggled at the name and said it was clever. All I know is that the only thing that would even compare to my locks is a cashmere sweater, but Mom said that would never happen.
Don't worry though, I'm slowly growing back into my hair. Before you know it, I'll be back to the same Winston you all know and love. Let's make one thing clear, Mom has learned her lesson about brushing me before baths. I don't think we'll ever have to worry about matted curls again.

Colors

Coat: Anthropologie, Sweater, Pants: J. Crew, Shoes: Mia via DSW

I found this coat on sale at Anthropologie a couple weeks ago and I just couldn't resist. The colors are amazing! After I bought it I couldn't stop wearing it around the house. I'm sort of obsessed. I would walk past catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and stop and give myself guns with a "Hey, how you doing?"Andy kept asking me if I was going to sleep in it too. I may or may not have thought about it....

My older sister was in town this weekend so we played makeover just like the old days. She did this lovely little Heidi braid on me. I loved it so much. Unfortunately, I can't do it on myself so It won't be happening again anytime soon. I guess I'll just have to stick with the five second bun on the top of my head. Dang.

Anthro is having a great sale right now. I'm also in love with these little ladies.

Iron Man

Winston, along with the rest of humanity, has a fear of the unknown. Andy likes to use this fear to taunt him. Rude, I know. Whenever he is ironing something he holds the iron out and presses the steam button at Winston, making it hiss loudly. Winston, of course, goes berserk barking, growling, and running all over the room trying to establish that he is boss over the iron.
So, the other day I could hear Winston barking from the other room, which is unusual because he doesn't bark much and Andy wasn't home to tease him. When I went to investigate, this is what I found...

Saturday I had the opportunity to celebrate 40 years with Fashion Place Mall. I had SO much fun hanging out with these lovely ladies and enjoying an amazing lunch at Brio Tuscan Grille. I loved meeting some of my readers and getting to know them. They were all so fun. I wish I could have had the opportunity to meet all of you! Partaaay! Whoot! Whoot!...excited owl over here! Okaaay, well anyways. I want to give a shout out to Fashion Place Mall. Thank you so much for everything! And thank you Molly, Aubry, and Dani for entering the giveaway. Mashed Brains

Blouse, Skirt, Tights: J. Crew, Shoes: Mia via DSW

The title of the post sounds fitting since it is almost Halloween. However, I'm not going to get all gruesome guts on you. You're welcome.
I am going to talk about something that's a bit scary though. It's midterms, which means my brains are the consistency of garlic mashed potatoes. I really do love garlic mashed potatoes, in fact I had them for dinner last night. However, they're not quite optimal during the peak of that stressful, test/paper/project-full week they like to call midterms. I'm pushing through to survival and hoping my brains firm up to full function mode. Pray for me?

The Ghost of Halloween Past

Two years ago we were The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who for Halloween. I don't mean to toot my own horn or anything, but it was legit. It was one of those things that you plan out in your head and just hope that it will all come together. We got lucky and it did. Andy may or may not have been a bit upset about me glueing eyebrows to his face and making him wear fake eyelashes...such a trooper. However, living up to Cindy Lou and The Grinch has been a bit difficult. Last years costume was so pitiful that I won't even post a picture (We were each other...he was a Cougarette and I was a Ski Racer...lame). We've got something in mind this year that I think is pretty good. Do you have any great costumes from the past?

Reality TV

Sweater: J. Crew (Similar), Shirt: Old Navy, Pants: Unknown, Shoes: J. Crew, Necklace: F21

Sometimes I think my life should be a T.V. show. Not because it's super interesting or dramatic, but because it's freakin' funny. I swear the strangest things happen to me. Do you ever live through moments in life where afterwards you look around and think, did any one else just see that? I wish I had a camera on me most of the time because then I could share parts of my strange, strange life with you. I guess I kind of already do.

Product Review: eShakti

Dress: c/o eShakti, Tights: J. Crew, Shoes: Nordstrom Rack, Necklace: F21

Remember when I did a product review for eShakti in this post? Well, they recently came out with their new fall line so they sent me this little number to review. I picked this dress with future holiday parties in mind. It's a little soon to wear it now, but it would be perfect for a Christmas gathering or  New Years Eve soiree. I really love the fabric, it's so pretty and elegant. The peplum detail is subtle, yet it gives just enough extra sass to make it stand out. This dress had me prancing around in anticipation of the christmas tree and some hot cocoa. Plus, this dress as, well as all of eShakti's products are very affordable. They are definitely a go-to when you're looking for a fun, festive outfit, but you're also hoping to eat next week too.
I'm usually a small and my last dress I received from them was also a small, but this dress seemed a bit tight, particularly around my bottom. It may or may not have something to do with the shape of my bum, but I would probably go a size up in this dress. I don't think I could endure to the end of Thanksgiving dinner in this one... I would probably pop a few seams. You should definitely check out eShakti in preparation for the holiday season that is coming your way!
