Ninja Wannabe

Jacket: Gap, Shirt: J. Crew, Pants: Unknown, Shoes: Target

You know these headbands? Well I think they're darling... on other people. So, when I saw one that I loved at F21 I snatched it right up thinking, "Oh I can't wait to wear this. It'll add so much spice to a simple outfit!" Well, turns out they're just not that cute on me. I felt like a ninja wannabe. And I felt like I was getting my brains squeezed out –talk about a headache waiting to happen. But, I thought maybe I was just unaccustomed to wearing them, so I persevered. That is until I walked on campus and everyone was looking at me like I was a foreign object. Maybe it was all in my head and I was just sensitive about it to begin with because I didn't feel like I was rockin' it. Normally I would have embraced my ninja-ness and karate chopped those stares in half, but I just didn't feel confident. Any tips on how to wear those cute silk, knotted headbands?

Eye-Catchers

Cheetah Loafers: Target
Camel Print Shirt: F21
Necklace: F21
Blazer: H&M
Dress: ModCloth

These are a few items that have caught my eye while I've been out and about. I picked up the loafers, necklace, and shirt and I'm hoping to snag the other two as well. I wouldn't pair these things together, but I love each piece separately.

Neverland

Top, Earrings: Nordstorm Rack, Pants: J. Crew, Shoes: H&M

I love Peter Pan collars, partly because they're cute and feminine, but mostly because I've always just loved Peter Pan. Maybe there's something romantic about flying out the window to a land with pirates and mermaids in which I'll never grow up. Let's be honest, growing up is just not as fun as childhood. Jobs and bills vs. The Lost Boys and Tiger Lily– is that even a question? I'm also envious of Wendy because she gets to wear her nightgown all the time. I mean who doesn't want to spend all day in their pajamas?

A Night at the Fair

We went to the fair about a week ago with our friends Karli and Andrew and we had SO much fun! It was definitely an experience. We saw all sorts of colorful people. For the first twenty minutes we just kind of walked around and watched people. We started out by shooting some baskets. But we soon found out we were getting ripped off. The lady kept saying "If you make it you pay me, but if you lose I pay you." We're not quite sure if we were missing something or if she was just not quite right. The giant slide was my favorite – a definite thriller. I may or may not have let out a child like squeal the whole way down. I've never been one for spinning rides. For instance, the teacups at Disneyland aren't exactly fun for me. However, after some persuasion, Karli finally got us to go on the Starship 4000. Basically, it spins so fast that the pressure of the momentum pins you to the sides of the ride to the point that you're practically levitating. It was sort of sickening, but so hilarious. On one side of me Andy was silently looking forward and on the other Karli was rolling around all over the place while Andrew just kept saying, "Why did you make me do this?" I was laughing so hard I was crying. So, surprisingly I enjoyed it. The blurry picture above represents pretty well the way we felt afterwards.
We enjoyed riding the rides and eating some Navajo Fry Bread. Needless to say it was a good night!

A Hereditary Love for Hens

Shirt, Pants: J. Crew, Shoes: DSW, Necklace: J. Crew Factory

Ever since I was a little girl my Nana has always loved hens. She has porcelain chickens in her kitchen and portraits of chickens on her walls. And they're not just any chickens- these chickens have got serious style. I've definitely inherited her love for chickens. It was when I saw J. Crew's multiple pieces featuring the french hen that I knew I was a hen lady. I couldn't resist this blouse. It was love at first sighting! I'm currently loving these other hens: one, two, three

Fickle for Fall

Blouse: Chill Boutique NYC, Pants: J. Crew
Shoes: Loehman's, Necklace: J. Crew Factory

I think I'm really fickle when it comes to seasons. It seems I always want what I can't have. When it's winter, I want spring. When it's summer, I want fall. And I want it bad right now. I love the clothes, the colors, the smells, and just the feeling of fall. And I LOVE to bake pumpkin goodies. That's really where the inspiration for this outfit came from... pumpkins. Part of my subconscious food psyche always creeps into every other aspect of my brain. I just can't help it.

Squishy Cheek Kisses

I love squishy cheek kisses. There's just something about them that's so romantic, yet playful in a – I love you so much I just want to kiss your face off – kind of way. They're also reassuring. Whenever Andy leans over and plants one on me, I always feel like all is right in the world and everything is going to be okay. Sometimes its good to feel like nothing else matters but that small moment and puckering sound that comes with it.

All That Glitters

I've been searching for a gold, glittery nail polish that I love. Usually most glittery nail polishes are sheer and I don't want them to be. Lets just say this one made all of my dreams come true. I was originally just planning on using it for an accent nail, but I loved it so much I decided to use it on all of my nails. I found this wish-granting bottle of glitter here

Goldenrod

Dress: Classiques Entier via Nordstrom Rack, Belt: J. Crew,
Shoes: DSW, Necklace: J. Crew

I have always loved the color yellow. It's just so happy. It connotes sunshine and sunflowers and tulips and jaundice.... yikes. Okay so maybe not everything associated with yellow is happy, but for the most part it's a happy color. So for the most part, I wish you a yellow day!!

A Wedding Weekend

This past weekend my brother got married. It was such a happy, wonderful day filled with lots of love, family, and friends. We could not be more thrilled to officially welcome Chantay into the family. She felt like she belonged from day one. She makes my brother, Andrew, the happiest guy alive. Not to mention she is absolutely stunning, and so much crazy fun. I am so happy to have gained another sister. Congrats you two, I love you!

Aren't they stunning?

The reception was amazing. They made most of the decorations themselves and they were outstanding!

My amazing parents. I couldn't ask for more!

Look at those! Amazing right?

My beautiful baby sis.

Nana and Pops, two of my favorite people!

The gorgeous bride and her gorgeous mother!

Chantay was so cute to think of a grooms cake for my brother. It included all the things he loves: the beach, chinese, books, and Standford!

This picture was just too good not to include...whoa buddy!
This picture melts my heart. I know my mom will cry when she sees this.

This one gets me too. Daddy/Daughter relationships are so special.

The happy couple, so in love!

And this picture pretty much sums up how amazing the weekend really was! Check here for more pics!
